C30 Sensible Volvo
When Volvo launched the Volvo C30 last year, it was officially marketed at young professionals as ‘a cool car for people with active urban lifestyles.’ This was in a bid to help the company shed its traditionally staid and rather dull image. So far it appears to have worked, with the C30 now a firm contender in the premium compact sector.
Cooler than the ubiquitous VW Golf and Audi A3, more exciting than the BMW 1 series and on a par with the Alfa 147 when it comes to turning heads, drivers have warmed to the C30’s stylish looks and great handling.
Volvo’s baby is produced in Belgium, in the same factory as the S40 and V50, with which it shares its underpinnings. These are derived from the same platform as the Focus from parent company Ford, as are the C30’s powerful Zetec engines. 4 independent seats and a fully glass rear tailgate make for a spacious and airy cabin.
All of the above is backed by the sturdy dependability and safety features we have come to expect from the Swedish manufacturer.
The C30 has been described as the first affordable Volvo that is fun to drive. A combination of its hot hatch credentials, combined with Volvo’s excellent reputation for quality and reliability make the C30 an extremely attractive proposition.
Strong residual values are another factor which make leasing a C30 an even more sensible option than ever. This June, Select are offering the C30 SE 1.6 for just £195 per month. Click here to find out more
