The Citroen C-Crosser is Citroens first SUV. Citroen have introduced it as "Solid and yet still fluid, the Citroen C-Crosser’s pure lines instantly mark it out as a Citroen, while the aerodynamic curve of the roof promises a real driver’s car. Its distinctive looks, chrome finishes and unique wheel design mean you’ll always stand out from the crowd."

Designed with the family in mind, the Citroen C-Crosser has a versatile 5+2 seating layout. It has the largest load area in its class and a split tailgate for easy access and loading.

The 2.2 HDi engine generates 156hp, and is capable of a top speed of 124 mph. The Citroen C-Crosser can achieve an excellent 39.2 mpg on a combined cycle for VTR+ models with 16" alloys, thanks to factors like the weight saving aluminium roof and on-demand 4x4 system.

In two-wheel drive mode, only the front wheels are driven and it’s perfect for tarmac, guaranteeing high grip on dry roads. Four-wheel drive mode sees the torque automatically split between front and rear axles for the best grip in tougher conditions. And finally, Lock-up mode is similar to 4WD, only with 1.5 times more torque sent to the rear axle - just what you need in snow, sand and mud.

Its CO2 emissions are amongst the lowest in its class - from just 191g/km on VTR+ models with 16" alloys - and these world-class ecological credentials are strengthened by the Diesel Particulate Filter System (DPFS) fitted as standard. This clever invention stores up particulates given off by diesel fuel, then burns them off long before they ever get near the atmosphere.

All trim levels come with an impressive list of safety features, with ABS, EBD, ESP, Front, rear and curtain airbags and ISOFIX anchorage points as standard across the range. With an electronic transponder immobiliser and deadlocks also as standard your Citroen C-Crosser will be secure too.

All the trim levels come with RDS stereo radio/MP3 compatible CD player with steering mounted controls to keep you entertained and if you choose the Exclusive model you will be upgraded to a 6-CD Autochanger.

If comfort is more your priority, all vehicles come with air conditioning with a pollen filter, Front and Rear electric windows, cruise control and adjustable steering wheel. If you choose the Exclusive, top of the range model, front heated leather seats come as standard.

Top Gear discusses the practicality of the Citroen C-Crosser quoting "Pop-up kid's seats in the back are a stroke of genius for families with kids and friends and kit to transport. The boot's also big with just five to seat - it'll hold 770litres." On the handling it quotes "Very, very car-like, the C-Crosser has a well-judged chassis set-up that makes it genuinely fun to drive. It doesn't get distracted by bumps and can be made to dispense quite a lot of speed on tight roads. Decent steering and strong brakes help.he 2.2-litre four-pot turbo diesel in the C-Crosser is a gem. It may only have 154bhp, but the car punts from rest to 62mph in just under 10 seconds and can overtake and ride the motorways with ease. A terminal speed of 124mph is perfectly achievable but unnecessary."
